Dank - a trendy new word
Interesting how trends happen. One person decides to start a new trend. They encourage others to follow and when enough people are following - "BOOM" a new trend is born. It happened In my home town of Port Dover Ontario - the high school students started developing the use of slang words to mean something new. One word is taking hold like wildfire. That word is Dank! Dank defined (Pt Dover style) means - 1- Great
2- All is good
3- Awesome
4- Cool and any other positive message! Not so different than groovie and cool! Therefore if anyone says something is dank - you now know "all is good" Trends are what marketers look for. Demographic studies are completed for that purpose. Marketers hope to capitalize on "new" trends or movements so they can ride the wave and profit. Just how all trends start though remains something out of the hands of marketers. Someone simply starts the "trend," but with a personal power that is almost like magic. Others follow along until a critical mass seems to carry it to heights almost unimaginable. Just think of Hush Puppies. "Dank," now has a new meaning. Just like the word "cool" developed a new meaning in the 60's, "Dank" is spreading like wild fire. It all started with a bunch of high school students in a small town of Port Dover Ontario. With that said I leave you with a question. "What new trend are you going to start?"
Life really is "Dank!"

We did this as kids, started out own words but we weren't that "successful"! Should be an interesting WEBTERS or Encarta entry on word origin.
